During August 2018 I will be blogging my way through Brian Zahnd’s Beauty Will Save the World: Rediscovering the Allure of Christianity. The back-cover synopsis of the book reads: “Zahnd shows that by following the teachings of the beatitudes, the church can become a viable alternative to current-day political, commercial, and religious power and can actually achieve what these powers promise to provide but fail to deliver.”
I will share my thoughts and insights on Zahnd’s work, drawing out important intersections in worship, spirituality, and Christian faith. I will post a brief reflection for each chapter using the schedule below. I invite you to read along and join in discussion in the comment section, on Facebook, or on Twitter.
August 4 – Chapter One
August 8 – Chapter Two
August 12 – Chapter Three
August 16 – Chapter Four
August 20 – Chapter Five
August 24 – Chapter Six
August 28 – Chapter Seven
And, as you begin thinking about reading for September, prepare for a blog-along through Mike Graves’ Table Talk: Rethinking Communion and Community.
I look forward to reflecting with you!
